       'A bright light flashed on the gravel path, and Winter heard Star laugh. "Goodbye, stupid little heroes! This should hold you up, and you'll never stop me!" The light grew brighter and winds rose up until Winter couldn't hear the others. Suddenly the wind stopped, and the light faded. Winter examined the clearing. Everyone looks okay, just shaken... Except for Apple. "Apple!" She exclaimed. She padded over to him. Apple was lying on the ground. He looked different, but Winter couldn't tell how. "Oh Herana! I hurt all over, what the heck happened?" He asked. His voice sounded strange. Winter got confused until it struck her.'

Now, for chapter one.




       Winter peeked out of her window. The brown and white wolf ley her head down on the window sill. Two days had passed since the day her family went missing. Just- gone. She walked out and bumped into Sunray, a lioness. "Winter!" The golden lion said. Winter blinked at Sun for a second. "Yeas?" Winter asked. "Listen, I think we should go look for your parents. Mine went missing yesterday, and if we don't look we might never find them!" She said worriedly. Sun nodded. "Exactly what I was thinking! I was meaning to tell you soon. I've already packed. You?" Winter shook her head. "No. But are you sure that this is a good idea? I mean, we're only kids..." She trailed off and headed back indoors. "Come on, lets go inside. She reached into the cabinet with her paw and pulled out a box with tea in it. She poured some tea for themselves and said, "Are we going alone?" Sun nodded. I think so. So far as I know, only our parents are missing. Except for Per's, but they never had parents from when Per was born." She sipped her tea. Sun looked at her in the eye. "I think I know who's causing this. After reaserching I think it's the doing of Star. She's an evil..." Sun was searching for a word. "Sorceress. She might have caused this." Winter almost choked. "Star?! No, it can't be!" Star was a witch hated by many as she had been probably the worst of them all. "Well, we should leave. It'd getting dark." Sun said. Suddenly the door burst open. The little magenta white wolf Per hopped into the doorway. "Word is your leaving on a journey!"" She said. Apple followed her, the red and brown wolf putting his paw on his muzzle. "Per, I told you not to burst into people's houses like that!" The grumpy wolf growled.
